Supplier Program Management Specialist

  • Summary: This is a Supplier Program Management Specialist position reporting to Manager of Supplier Management China Operations & Business Development. This position is a customer support focal that assumes the position as a liaison between airline customers, in-service supplier management in Seattle, and suppliers in Greater China. Flight Training Support Administrator

  • Summary of Accountabilities are as follows:
  • Monitors flight simulator instructor currency requirements and schedules instructors and evaluators for annual recurrent and instructor certification training.
  • Contacts candidate instructors to verify availability for requested customer training courses, and following instructor confirmation, allocates qualified instructors in accordance with Boeing and local campus policy, contract work rules and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitors customer training schedule changes and notifies or re-assigns instructors, as required.

  • Ensure Activity Reports and Expense Claims by Flight Instructors are properly processed and vetted before submission to relevant departments each week
  • Check student pre-requisites before course commencement.
  • Liaise with vendors for supply of training materials.
  • Ensure and maintain adequate stocks of training materials
  • Monitor Flight Training curriculum to ensure revision status is accurately executed.

Job Description

  • Support Boeing Flight Services in the repairing, testing, installing, configuring, upgrading and assisting in the modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software at the Shanghai Campus. Work closely with airlines and Boeing technical experts and pilots to support safety related activities to assist airlines in maintaining and improving their safety focus on SMS, flight operations safety programs, and maintenance safety evaluations.

    • Lead/support Boeing/CAAC cooperative projects. Work with CAAC Flight Standard Department, Aviation Safety Office and many other related functional departments to obtain win-win cooperation result; identify areas of mutual interest in order to foster future interactions and strengthen the company position through cooperative projects.

    • Support China Initiative strategy to build closer tie with Chinese stakeholders, including airlines and government entities, to introduce and implement new services products and aviation technologies into China (e.g. GLS/GBAS, HUD, ADS-B, RNP, 16G/HIC seats, OMP, etc.)

    • Monitor CAAC regulation revision activities; coordinate with appropriate Boeing management/function teams to determine Boeing position and provide recommendations in CAAC rule making process to protect Boeing interests.

    • Coordinate across Boeing to build strong network for support of safety related activities in China.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and Competency Required:

    • Wide range of knowledge in aviation, aviation industry, and Boeing products/services

    • Good knowledge FAA and CAAC aviation rules and other industry information (ICAO documents)

    • Knowledge FAA/CAAC airplane certification process

    • Good command to English (read, write, listen/speak)

  • Problem Solving: 

    • Excellent people skills, communication skills, and relationship skills.  Coordinate with CAAC to get Boeing application projects prioritized appropriately to protect Boeing interest, especially when there is resource constraint

    • Monitor CAAC rule making plans, communicate Boeing recommendations to CAAC in the new rule making process to protect Boeing interest

  • Discretion: 

    • Work under minimum direction from Manager of China Service Center and Safety & Regulatory Affairs Director

    • Time management skills, project management skills.

  • Impact:  

    • Significant coordination activities with external CAAC departments.  The results of these activities have significant potential to affect certification issues in the future.  Must have excellent people skills and communication skills

  • Liaison: 

    • Must be able to develop a wide range of external and internal relationships (English and Mandarin).

  • Experience:

    • 10 Years industry experience (not including education) preferred

  • Requirements:

    • Minimum education requirements, bachelor degree in engineering or aviation related area.

    • Must be eligible working in China.
